Information Technologies Vocational Education and Training Centre has been created owing to the personal initiative and encouragement of the President of Georgia in 2006.
ITVET Centre has elaborated and designed up-to-date curricula in the field of ICT which is consistent with the European standards and are successfully used at other vocational as well as at the secondary schools centers in Georgia.
ITVET Centre is also in charge of initiating and arranging various training programs for the teachers and instructors from other vocational centers and also provides them with learning methods materials.
The distance learning Facility MOODLE has been implemented and successfully used at the ITVET Centre which according to the foreign experts is believed to be the advanced technology in Georgian educational field. The MOODLE server comprises the learning and testing materials that are available not only for the students of ITVET. For the first time in the Georgian educational field ITVET has organized the online admission of the new applicants by means of electronic testing system.
Our centre also coordinates the creation process of the common informational environment and implementation of the web portal which is going to comprise all the vocational centers in Georgia.
ITVET is closely cooperating with various organizations such as “Magticom”, ‘Alta”, “Orient Logic”, “United Telecom”. This enables us to support our students with internship and with their future employment. Last year 105 our graduates have been employed.
On the bases of Memorandum signed by the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Georgia and International Committee of Migration a career development branch is established at our centre that is in charge of preparing and training human resources to be employed in the field of career development.
Additionally a CISCO Regional Network Academy has been established at our centre which gives students the opportunity to receive an international certification in CISCO Computer Network Administration (CCNA).
Since 2 January 2007 ITVET has been UNESCO-UNEVOC official Centre in Georgia and is closely cooperating with UNESCO-UNEVOC International centre in Bonn as well as other centers worldwide.
